There is an exciting opportunity for unemployed South African mothers who are always hustling to make a living for their families.
The Taking Care of Business (TCB) had their Resell Programme Open Day in Thornton on Monday 22 January to inform unemployed mothers about their various programmes.
The programmes are free but require hard work, dedication and commitment. You cannot join the programme if you are part of any other learnerships or have part-time jobs or study commitments. The Resell programme targets women who are unemployed and the Repair Open Day targets people who can repair household appliances.
“It is important that the local community knows about these opportunities so that the right people can join the programme and get the support they need to become financially and socially independent. Word of mouth and local media helps the opportunity to reach the right people,” says Tracy Gilmore, co-founder of TCB.
According to Gilmore, “every year up to 200 unemployed women join our Resell programme. Up to 60 people can also join our Repair programme and another 60 can join our Remake programme, a total of 320 per year”, says Gilmore.
There is going to be another Resell Open Day at the TCB offices on Thursday 15 February, and one can apply online at www.tcb.org.za
