We should never underestimate the impact we can have on another individual.
Whether our contributions are big or small, the time we spend short or long, giving should form part of any brand’s DNA and culture, said managing director of Spott Media, Rucien Petersen.
“The efforts we make and the desire to do something in our communities will always be impactful and appreciated by those on the receiving end,” Petersen added.
On Tuesday 19 July the Spottmedia Team decided to sponsor items such as roll-on, soap, shampoo, conditioner, milk and more to Rainbow House.
Rainbow of Hope, lovingly known as Rainbow House, operates as a place of safety for vulnerable children in Cape Town.
The home was established in October 2007, and since then has obtained its Non-Profit Organisation (NPO) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) status.
If I can be successful, they can be successful
According to Petersen, they chose Rainbow House as all these kids come from broken households. Most children do not have their parents in their lives so they struggle with support, mentorship and examples to whom they can look up to.
These situations often result in the youth turning to other substances which affect their future negatively.
“My parents also divorced when I was 13/14 years of age and my example to the children at Rainbow House was to show them that if I can do something great like starting a business (Spott Media) and making it a success they can do that as well,” Petersen said.
“This despite their circumstances and backgrounds.”
