Missing since 1 February, Johannes Visser (56) from Brackenfell was found unharmed, but in a confused state last week.
According to available information Visser, a long standing patient at Stikland Hospital who is believed to be mentally challenged, went missing after having lunch with his daughter.
Security guards at Canal Walk where Visser likes to have a frequent coffee, saw him and identified him from a Missing Post circulated on social media by NPO, the Pink Ladies.
An ambulance was contacted and Visser was transported to a local hospital where he is in a stable condition.
