A 36-year-old Melkbosstrand man has died following an accident on the N7 highway on Wednesday (1 March).

Police spokesperson, Captain Adriana Chandler, says shortly after 04:00 Table View police responded to the accident where they found a white Toyota Hilux bakkie on the side of the road.

She says the man was being attended to by medical personnel a few metres away from the vehicle.  The man was declared dead on  the scene.

She says while the man has been identified as a Melkbosstrand resident, his name may not be released as the rest of his family still has to be informed.
