In a breathtaking display of community compassion, Brackenfell Pets and a coalition of 19 dedicated suppliers have delivered tonnes of life-changing donations to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League Cape Town (AACL) through the Care for the Voiceless 2026 initiative.

The campaign yielded extraordinary results as 3.5 tonnes of nutritious dog and cat food, 502 kg of treats, 105 kg of soft food for animals with special dietary needs, 830 puppy pads, 248 toys, 40 blankets, 335 kg of cat litter, 411 dewormers, and 420 tick and flea treatments, alongside a wealth of essential care products including beds, shampoos, collars, leads, gloves, ear cleaners, and GCS tablets were handed over.

For the rescued animals in AACL’s care, each donation means the real possibility of a better life. Brackenfell Pets described the campaign as “a beautiful reminder of what can happen when compassion leads the way.”

“What began as a heartfelt mission to support vulnerable animals, quickly grew into a movement, united by the belief that every animal deserves love and care,” says a spokesperson for the campaign.

At the heart of this story is the AACL, an organisation that continues to serve as a vital lifeline for animals, and the communities that love them.

Care for the voiceless

The AACL rescues abused and abandoned animals, provides affordable veterinary care to families in need, operates welfare hospitals, and extends life-saving outreach services through mobile clinics in underserved communities across Cape Town.

The donations received through the Care for the Voiceless initiative will directly support this essential work, ensuring that animals arriving from the most desperate of circumstances are met with care.

Brackenfell Pets extended special and heartfelt recognition to the remarkable companies whose generosity transformed a compassionate vision into a resounding reality.
