Local young entrepreneur Enzo Christiaans, a matric learner at Brackenfell High School, has made it to the Top 20 finalists on Maak My ‘n Miljoenêr, the popular entrepreneurial reality show on VIA (DStv 147) that showcases South Africa’s rising business talent and encourages young people to take bold steps into the world of enterprise.
Enzo’s journey is deeply rooted in family tradition, inspired by his grandparents, who dedicated their lives to producing quality rooibos tea, and his uncle, who expanded the product range to include olive oil and honey.
Enzo is now building the next chapter of that legacy through his company, Dammetjies Holdings.
“Not many young people are willing to take up such a heritage,” says Enzo, “but I believe it’s my calling to grow it. More than just a business, this is about honouring the past, building the present, and inspiring the future,” he told TygerBurger last week.
Support local
As the Maak My ‘n Miljoenêr competition heats up, Enzo is calling on his community to rally behind him. “By supporting Dammetjies Holdings, whether through purchasing our products or partnering with us you’re not just backing a local business. You’re helping make Brackenfell proud.”
Dammetjies Holdings specialises in locally-produced goods packaged in beautifully curated gift boxes in a tribute to his family heritage.
The show was founded by Albert van Wyk who as a high school learner always wished that an entrepreneur could visit his school to serve as a mentor to help him with his high school businesses.
After making his first million at the age of 22, he made it his life’s mission to mentor and help young high school entrepreneurs become millionaires too. Thus, the goal of the Make Me a Millionaire TV series is twofold – raising awareness of entrepreneurship in schools, and empowering entrepreneurs through mentorship and support.
Inspired by Alberts success, Enzo says his mission goes beyond profit. “I hope to inspire others to take pride in their roots and invest in their potential.
“Let’s win this competition together,” he says. “Let’s show that when we invest in passion, legacy, and community, success follows.”
. The show airs on Wednesday evenings at 19:30 on DStv channel 147.
