Two firearms with three live rounds were confiscated.


Kuils River police executed various crime-disrupting operations in the week from Monday 19 February to Sunday 25 February.

Local police spokesperson WO Liesel Beukes said 15 houses were searched for drugs and 19 arrests made relating to drugs.

The police confiscated 45,58 litres of alcohol, Mandrax tablets with an approximate street value of R2 760, tik with an approximate street value of R840, and dagga with an approximate street value of R144.

Beukes said five tracing operations were held and 15 wanted suspects arrested as a result.

A total of 75 suspects were arrested this week. Charges included murder, attempted murder, assault common, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH), drunk driving, reckless and negligent driving, possession of a dangerous weapon, malicious damage to property, housebreaking and theft, possession of an illegal firearm, possession of abalone, dealing in liquor without a licence, theft of motor vehicle, intimidation and drugs, house robbery, child neglect, rape, sexual assault, disobeying a peace officer and use of a vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Station commander Col JT Naidoo commended the police officers, officers from metro police, law enforcement, traffic police as well as neighbourhood-watch structures and reservists for their dedication and commitment to ensuring criminals were brought to justice.

Naidoo asked the community to continue assisting the police in ridding their neighbourhoods of criminals.
