The Bothasig Community Policing Forum (CPF) thanked the local police, community safety structures and armed-response companies recently for their continued efforts in making the community safer.
This follows the outcome of the July crime results.
According to the results July has seen a decrease in assault cases, including assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm and common assault, contact crimes, house burglaries, theft out of motor vehicles and cases related to firearms and ammunition.
There has been an increase, however, in common robberies, general theft, commercial crimes and the possession of stolen property.
The CPF, under leadership of chair Mario Borchards, also shared good news.
These include the increase in arrests relating to narcotics and possession of dangerous weapons, it reported.
