Two alleged members of the notorious Bad Boys gang were arrested earlier today in Bonteheuwel shortly after allegedly shooting one of their own gang members.

Patrolling

Sergeant Samantha Adonis, police spokesperson for the Bishop Lavis police, says officers were patrolling in Bonteheuwel when they heard shots in the vicinity and responded. “Community members pointed to Boekenhout Street and Bamble Way, where the officers found the lifeless body of a 31-year-old. The deceased was shot in the shoulder and neck and was declared dead on the scene,” says Adonis.

Two men

Officers in another police vehicle that was also responding to the scene saw two men running away and gave chase. They caught the men, aged 39 and 25, in Blackberry Street and arrested them. “In their possession they had a .38 revolver with four spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition. It was established that he was also a member of the Bad Boys,” says Adonis.

Adonis says the motive for the attack is under investigation.
