Andries Olivier Durbanville Quadriplegic Centre is expanding its fund-raising bookshop.
The centre will add another half-container to the garden, it said in a press release.
The bookshop will also have a sale on the second Saturday of each month, at the centre’s premises, at 18 Hafele Street, Durbanville from 09:00 to 14:00. Books will be on sale for as little as R5 each. The first book sale for the year will be on 10 January.
“Our shelves are overflowing and our well-stocked bookshop has an amazing selection of well-priced books from cookery books, interesting biographies, children’s books, South African interest books,” said the centre’s Allen Petersen.

“About 10 new boxes were unpacked and carefully sorted to provide you with a curated collection of quality books. A growing collection of collectibles is on sale every month. There is something for everyone.”
The shop also has an ongoing R1-a-laugh special on their cartoon books, including Snoopy, Madam & Eve, and Garfield. Petersen said that the shop also sells reasonably priced plants.
On weekdays the Browse & Buy Bookshop is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 15:00.
You can also donate books to the shop’s fundraisers. You can drop books off any time during the week. All proceeds go towards the care of the centre’s residents.
