Five men to appear in court today for Cape Town women’s kidnapping

Five men are due to appear in court in connection with the kidnapping of a 31-year-old Cape Town woman.

At least five people are expected in court today (Thursday 8 June) after the kidnapping of a Cape Town woman (31).

The woman was found at a house in Mfuleni on Tuesday afternoon, a press release from the provincial police department reads.

“The concerted efforts of the multidisciplinary provincial anti-kidnapping task team have led to the arrest of five male suspects as kidnapped Welgemoed woman is reunited with her family after she was found at a house in Mfuleni on Tuesday afternoon.”

The woman was kidnapped at Parow Industria on Friday evening after she left a family business in Garrett Street where she works. 

“Her vehicle was later discovered abandoned at NY 99 in Gugulethu after she failed to return home from work.”

According to Netwerk24, the kidnapping happened at 16:00.

Over the course of the past few days she was allegedly held at four different places before being taken to Mfuleni.
