A 25-year-old woman from Elsies River was arrested for
possession of drugs on Wednesday 14 November around 13:00.
Sergeant Altworth Cupido, from Parow police, received a
tip-off about a suspicious box at a business premises in Parow.
According to Captain Kevin Williams, spokesperson for Parow
Police Station, Cupido responded to tip-off and discovered drugs in a box.
The box contained a plastic bag containing tik (valued at
R10 000) and 100 Mandrax tablets valued R5000.
Williams says the 25-year-old was called to collect her
package and when she received it, Cupido arrested her.
“It was later found that box containing drugs was destined
for Saron,” says Williams.
The suspect will remain in custody at Parow Police Station
and will go to the Bellville Magistrates court on Friday.
