In two recent drug raids in Kraaifontein police found and seized drugs with a street value of about R60 000 and arrested and detained one man.
In one incident the provincial operation team investigated a drug house in Wallacedene last Sunday night (28 August) at about 23:00. Acting on information received from the provincial task team the house was searched. “Police found and seized 150 Mandrax tablets, 71 sachets of tik, three bags containing 220 grams of tik and 13 sachets of cocaine to the value of plus minus R50 000, abandoned in the house,” says provincial police spokesperson Capt Frederick van Wyk. An enquiry was registered for further investigation.
In an unrelated incident on 26 August, police raided a house in Rembrand Street, Scottsville.
“We received information about a prison gang leader who is operating in Kraaifontein but resides in Saldanha Bay. Observations were held and information gathered about drugs and firearms on the premises. After receiving information about a drug drop-off the operation was deployed. On entering the house, police confiscated 200 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R8 000, and arrested an adult male for possession of drugs,” says Van Wyk.
