A total of 697 Mandrax tablets and eight small packets containing crystal meth (tik) were found at a house in Fisantekraal.

Two men were arrested last (Friday) night in Fisantekraal for the possession of drugs.

Police officers of Durbanville police and the Tygerberg District Crime Combating Unit searched a premises in Kameeldoring Street at 20:00 after they received information about drugs being kept at the premises.

Upon searching the premises, they found 697 Mandrax tablets and eight small packets containing crystal meth (tik). The police arrested two suspects aged 25 and 32 for the possession of drugs.

They will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

“We are serious about the sale of narcotics and drugs that are infesting our community and are taking a firm stand against it. We cannot allow our children to be drug addicts and later turn to gangsterism to support their habits,” said Col Gonum Munsamy, station commander of Durbanville police.
