Two Nigerian nationals, aged 43 and 33, were arrested in Parow
after an early-morning raid on Friday 2 November.
According to Captain Kevin Williams, spokesperson for Parow
Police Station, 11 Metro Police officials executed a search warrant at a new
drug house in Parow.
Williams says police entered 81 Voortrekker Road in Parow
and searched the premises.
“The occupant was very uneasy while police searched the
house, and after a careful search a large consignment of drugs was discovered
behind a wall photo,” says Williams.
There was a large opening in the wall in which a carrier bag
was found, containing the following drugs:
1. 330 whole Mandrax tablets
2. A bag of broken Mandrax tablets
4. 10 bags of tik
5. 15 bags of cocaine
A portable scale used for weighing drugs, as well as cash to
the value of R1370, was also found.
Williams says Constable Adriaan Isaacs of Metro Police
confiscated the drugs.
The suspects will remain in custody until Monday 5 November
and will appear in the Belleville Magistrate’s Court on charges of dealing in
drugs.
The Parow police and station commander praised the Metro
officials for the arrests and confiscation of drugs.
