Fake “electricity officials” dressed as City of Cape Town staff have been doing the rounds in Kuils River in recent months.
Kuils River police spokesperson WO Liesel Beukes said a fourth case of theft was registered last week, detailing two men dressed as City staff pretending they needed to check on prepaid electricity meters and plugs inside homes.
Once entrance is gained the men steal cellphones and wallets with bank cards. Beukes said cases were reported in Highbury and Soneike.
“These people are not from the City and our community members should not let them into their homes.”
If you see them please contact Kuils River police on 021 900 2800 or the detective, Sgt Marlon Parring, on 083 660 6400.
