The finished project makes organising a dream.

If like most people you have tens of little spice bottles in some container or taking up space in your pantry cupboard, then this simple but effective organising DIY will make a world of difference.

Using minimal supplies, this is also a great project should you have left-over bits of wood lying around.

Skill level – Easy

Tools needed:

  • Screwdriver or cordless drill
  • Sandpaper
  • Paint brush (optional)

Supplies needed:

  • Wood: 10cm x 8cm (x2) and 45cm x 8cm (x2)
  • Dowel 45cm
  • Wood screws
  • Paint (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Join the two long pieces in an L taking care to line up the corners. Use three screws. Tip – make a pilot hole with the screwdriver to make screwing easier if you do not have a drill.
  2. Add the smaller pieces to each of the two sides, lining up the edges.
  3. Line up the ends of the dowel one centimeter from the top of the side panels. Using two screws on either end, screw directly into the dowel from the outer edge of the side panel.
  4. Sand down the raw edges. If you are planning to paint, this would be the time.
