Former players of Durbanville Football Club recently gathered for a spirited old-boys get-together.
In a celebration steeped in tradition, memories and camaraderie, another milestone in the enduring brotherhood was marked celebrating the 51st year of Durbanville Football Club (DFC).
Hosted at the club, the event brought together generations of past players who have graced the soccer field.
Friendships
“The gathering was not only a walk down memory lane but also a chance to honour the friendships and legacy that DFC instilled in its players and members,” says Malcom Feldman, president of DFC.
The event featured an afternoon of braaiing, watching the rugby game between South Africa and Italy, reminiscing and many conversations as individuals caught up with each other, he says.
“As the sun set and as the old boys said their good byes, reiterating how awesome it was connecting with all the guys and while time may pass, the heart of DFC beats as strongly as ever in the lives of its old boys. Once a DFC boy, always a DFC boy. We plan to have many more such events,” Feldman says.
