A 36-year-old Delft man has been arrested for allegedly
raping two girls, believed to be his daughters.

According to provincial police spokesperson, Captain FC van
Wyk, Delft police were called to a “murder in progress” at Mangoro Street,
Leiden on Monday 30 September.

“Upon their arrival on the scene, they found a group of
community members assaulting a male. They removed the person and upon further
investigation they gathered information that the suspect allegedly raped two
girls aged 6 and 9. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital to be
examined,” said van Wyk.

He added: “A 36-year-old foreign national was arrested and
will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court once he has been charged.”     

A case of rape was registered for investigation by the
Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit.
