Two members of the Lions Club International recently celebrated a significant milestone – five decades of service.
Jeannie and Alan van Wulven from Monte Vista held a special event to mark their milestone, attended by around 60 Lions.
The couple’s first Lions project was in 1975.
“Over the years, Lions has taken us on many adventures,” Jeannie told the gathering. “We have travelled throughout South Africa and even to America on Lions business. More importantly, Lions has become a way of life for our family.”
Grateful
The couple thanked everyone who had been part of their journey over the last 50 years. “Whether you knitted, cooked, sold raffle tickets, supported fundraising events, attended meetings or simply offered encouragement, you helped make our service possible,” said Jeannie.
She said she and Alan continued to support causes that are close to their hearts.
“As we celebrate this milestone, we are reminded that service is never about one or two individuals. It is about a community of people coming together to make a difference. We have been blessed to share this journey with so many dedicated Lions and friends.”
