Residents in Parow and surrounding areas are encouraged to join and be part of the South African Police’s official community volunteer initiative, the Community in Blue (CIB).

CIB members are community volunteers who work in partnership with the police and operate under the guidance of the local community policing forum (CPF), says Bronwin Daniels, CPF chair.

“Together, we strengthen visible policing, improve safety, and foster trust between law enforcement and the community,” she says.

The purpose of the CIB is to enhance cooperation between the police and the community, to support visible policing through patrols and presence and to assist in crime prevention, safety awareness, and community engagement, she says.

CIB members act with integrity, respect and accountability, and all activities are voluntary and guided by the police’s code of conduct.

Members remain under the authority of the police and CPF structures during operations, says Daniels.

People who wish to join can email cpf.parow@gmail.com or send a WhatsApp to 060 699 1125 or 082 302 1700.
