The greater Blue Downs Ministers Fraternal (GBMF) is an organisation that wants to make a change in the community.
The GBMF is a registered non-profit organisation with the mission of “collectively transforming towards healing”.
According to pastor Gerald van Tonder from GBMF they are hopeful that 2023 will be a good year for the community.
“Our mission and values are realistically modelled and through collaboration we believe that each individual, the family, small groups and our community can transform as good ethical and moral value systems are actioned. We endeavour that each individual within our society and our community will be liberated and become self sustainable as we together overcome all obstacles,” says Van Tonder.
He further states that the organisation’s focus is on inclusivity.
“We focus on inclusivity through prayer initiatives, evangelism programmes, conferences and small group activities. We discourse best practices and challenges that threaten our faith and practices. We are of the opinion that everything about the Kingdom of God is effective, there is no ineffectiveness. God is never a God of chaos, disorder nor ineffectiveness. He has purpose and His purposes are effective. God seeks those who cooperate and He even loves those who will not cooperate.
“Eventually we invision social upliftment through poverty eradication as we assist and support various feeding scheme partnerships in our communities; advocate youth development strategies and assist in life skills training and development; capacity building initiatives at schools and within communities; job creation initiatives; assist the unemployed and vulnerable groups; address sexual immorality – promoting abstinence. These programmes are in collaboration with other stakeholders, institutions and organisations. The fraternity advocates initiatives of moral pureness in societies, as we address crime in the form of awareness and prevention programmes in partnership with security agencies,” says Van Tonder.
