Police last week raided a chop shop in Wallacedene.

Stolen vehicles and parts to the value of R4 million were recovered at a chop shop in Wallacedene last week.

A 48-year-old alleged chop shop operator was arrested by police during a sting operation by various police units last Monday.

Police had monitored the premises for suspicious activities over a period of time due to the hijacking of vehicles and trucks in the northern part of the Western Cape.

“Four vehicles that were reported stolen in different policing areas were recovered and seized as well as several car parts and work equipment,” police spokesperson Ndakhe Gwala says.

The man appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ court last Wednesday on charges relating to the possession of motor vehicles and parts.
