The body of a young man, his head smashed in by concrete slabs, was found in Scottsdene, Kraaifontein, on Monday morning.
A pedestrian alerted the police at around 07:00 after discovering the body in an alley on Bonita Crescent, across from the U-Save.
Warrant Officer Louise Strydom from Kraaifontein police says the man’s age has not yet been determined yet.
“He had severe head wounds caused by a heavy concrete structure,” she says. “His mother was at the scene and visibly emotional. A large crowd had gathered, and police had to enforce strict crowd control to allow the police photographer to document the scene.”
Kraaifontein police are investigating a case of murder.
