Local residents will soon have a simple yet meaningful way to support vulnerable communities across the Western Cape through an innovative partnership between faith-based non-profit Badisa and popular homeware retailer Mambo’s Storage and Home.
Kuumba care Day is the 6th March 2026 but the stickers are already available for purchase at the Mambo’s stores in the Western Region. Each sticker purchase directly funds Badisa’s extensive community programmes that reach over one million people annually.
“Every sticker purchased creates a ripple effect of support with lasting impact for vulnerable communities,” explains Zoe Borchards, Badisa’s Events and PR coordinator.
The initiative centers around Badisa’s flagship Kuumba Care programme – named after the Swahili word meaning “creativity” – which uses visual storytelling, advocacy campaigns, and community partnerships to amplify unheard voices with dignity and hope.

Adrie Jurgensen, Badisa’s Director of Marketing, Communications & Fundraising, emphasises that Kuumba’s role extends beyond immediate aid: “It teaches empathy and care, promoting social responsibility in schools and communities throughout our region.”
Shoppers can participate by looking for Kuumba Care displays near checkout counters at participating Mambo’s stores. The stickers can be worn proudly or given as gifts to spread awareness about community support.
Badisa, which operates 134 audited programmes across the Western, Northern, and Eastern Cape, brings decades of experience in prevention, protection, and care services to communities that need them most. The organisation maintains Level 1 B-BBEE status and Section 18A compliance, ensuring transparent and effective use of funds.
This retail-wide collaboration represents more than just fundraising – it creates a direct connection between everyday shoppers and meaningful community impact. Through a simple sticker purchase, residents can contribute to programmes that promote empathy, kindness, and social responsibility across the Cape provinces.
