Atlantis police are investigating a murder following a shooting incident on Friday, 1 May.
The incident took place at about 07:55 in Shelly Court, Avondale, where a 17-year-old male was shot and fatally wounded.

Provincial police spokesperson Sgt Wesley Twigg said officers attended the crime scene and were informed that the victim had been transported to a medical facility in a private vehicle, where he was declared dead on arrival.

“According to reports, the victim was sleeping in the living room when two suspects entered the premises and opened fire. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation,” said Twigg.
