Firefighters were called out to extinguish a fire at an asbestos
dumping site in the Brackenfell industrial area on Thursday afternoon.

This is the second fire to break out at the site since the
start of the year. Residents in the area were also fearful of inhaling dangerous
asbestos deposits.

The vacant land, which now belongs to Group Five, caught
fire shortly after 14:00.

The raging fire had white smoke billowing across the area
causing many businesses to evacuate and close shop.

A total of three fire engines and approximately 10
firefighters were on the scene Thursday battling to bring the fire under
control.
