Edgemead Arts & Crafts, a group that also serves surrounding areas, has officially found a home, founding member Heleen Niere has announced.

“While our community continues to grow, finding a space large enough to host our events, prize givings and classes has always been a challenge until now.

“We are incredibly grateful to A1 Brews in Monte Vista. A coffee and thrift shop with a genuine passion for arts and crafts, it has gone above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Its central location and welcoming atmosphere could not have come at a better time.”

Niere said Arts & Crafts’ competitions have become more prestigious, with members stepping up to sponsor incredible prizes. Recent winners have walked away with everything from tattoo vouchers to top-of-the-range leather-goods stockist Jekyll & Hide gift cards.

”We recently hosted a fantastic prize giving at our new home. Beyond the main awards, members contributed beautiful goodie bags for everyone who attended. The day was filled with live music, lucky draws, biscuit tastings, communal doodle art.

“These activities were offered at no charge, a feat made possible only through the generosity of our members and support of A1 Brews.

“Our community is more than just a group of 250 members; it is a vibrant ecosystem of talent and heart. It is my greatest honour to lead such a dedicated and supportive collective.”
