The Elsies River Community Police Forum (ERCPF) commends the police for the arrest of the alleged killers of Clinton Treu, a neighbourhood watch member that was shot on Sunday 8 September.
Community in Blue (CIB) coordinator Joshua Jackson expressed confidence that justice will prevail. “Bail was denied and the state appears to have a solid case,” says Jackson.
“ERCPF and our CIB members were in attendance at the court proceedings on Friday 4 October to show support and solidarity to the family of our slain Treu.”

ERCPF chair Hamish Arries said he was sad for the family members and friends that packed the gallery.
“The accused appeared to be without remorse and was quite cocky in the dock. I want to thank the community, the CIB patrollers and the neighbourhood watch and CPF members who attended in support of the family,” says Arries.
Arries says it is important that the families of victims know that they are not alone in their pain. “I appeal to the community to come forward with any information on crimes and especially with regards to the many firearms that are still in circulation in the area. We cannot allow violent criminals to roam our streets,” he says.
