An alleged gang member from Kraaifontein was caught prowling around and jumping a wall in Uitzicht during the early morning hours of last Wednesday.
He was apprehended by SJC Security’s tactical team and handed over for arrest before any crime could be committed.
“In the early hours of Wednesday morning our control room received multiple alerts of an individual triggering the human detection cameras installed by the Northern Suburbs Camera Initiative as a safety project in Uitzicht.
“Our control room dispatched our tactical team to Manchester Street, but on arriving there was nobody to be found,” says Charl du Toit, managing director of SJC Security.
The team then returned to the control room to check the cameras in the area for human movement.
They then started an extensive search on foot to find the suspect.
“After a prolonged search the suspect was found and detained in Mont Blanc Crescent where he jumped a fence.
“He was identified by our tactical team as a known gang member in Kraaifontein,” says Du Toit.
He was handed over to Kraaifontein police who made a successful arrest.
