The Big Bay Master Property Owner’s Association (Big Bay MPOA) has revitalised landscaping and maintenance efforts in the area.
“Our latest update highlights ongoing restoration along the central Otto du Plessis corridor, where invasive species are being removed,” it said in a statement. “Meanwhile, lawn restoration takes priority, with eight square metres of fresh grass rejuvenating bare patches.”
The ongoing beach and dune clean-up deserves a standing ovation, with 98 bags of refuse collected.
“In our ecological corridors more than 2 000 cuttings and 4 000 seeds have been planted since December, with a plan to roll 12 000 wildflower seeds out, ahead of the West Coast flower season. November to February will see 60 new plants adding to the floral spectacle. Infrastructure is also getting a red-carpet makeover, with a proposal for 1,5 m brick paving outer rings on traffic circles awaiting City approval. Three accidents since January have required irrigation and plant repairs, but our team remains dedicated to keeping Big Bay’s landscape a true showstopper!”
