A 63-year-old man was shot and killed opposite the Bellville Civic Centre on Thursday afternoon (19 October).
Bellville police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Henrietta Van Niekerk, says the man was walking out of a fast food outlet when he was shot.
“The man had just had lunch. When he walked out of the food outlet he was shot five times in the back.”
Van Niekerk says the man died on the scene. She says police cannot confirm whether the man was a taxi driver or not, as TygerBurger had learnt from a local neighbourhood watch.
“Police are investigating a case of murder and no arrests have been made yet.”
