A host of experts and sponsors have teamed up to bring you the self-defence tips you need and can watch from the comfort of your home. They are from left: Paul Gerber (oenologist at Colmant Cap Classique & Champagne), Johan Hulme (general manager, Basset Alarms), Lyndon Julius (content marketer at WP Media), Francois du Plessis (self-defence expert, owner of Francois du Plessis School of Karate), Chris Engelbrecht (new car sales manager for SMG Tygervalley) and Nicholas Agrotis (dealer principal for SMG Tygervalley).

TygerBurger, in association with Francois du Plessis Self-Defence, is joining the fight against gender-based violence through a series of self-defence videos aimed at empowering women with the knowledge on how to defend themselves.

These four short videos are loaded with valuable content and self-help tips on what to do when faced with a dangerous situation.

An experienced sixth dan karate instructor, Du Plessis demonstrates how the vulnerable can defend themselves by taking the viewer through various scenarios depicted in each video.

In this week’s installment of the video series, Francois demonstrates how to effectively position your feet when taking a stance against a would-be attacker.

He also highlights and shows what an effective fist looks like and points out a few areas of sensitivity that would help a vulnerable victim defend her- or himself against any form of attack.

The self-defence expert shows how to punch without using your fist of hand.

These videos were made possible by the following sponsors and partnerships: VIA, POP!, SMG Tyger Valley, Bassett Direct Alarms and Colmant Cap Classique and Champagne.
