Three men, all aged 22, appeared in the Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday on charges of rape.

They were arrested by police next to the railway line in Brackenfell on Sunday 24 April after they were caught in the act by security officers from Titanium Securitas, while sexually assaulting two women.

Seeking help another victim went to the offices of Titanium Securitas in the early hours of the morning.

“One of our armed response officers found the devastated woman in front of our offices in tears. He called for backup while listening to her story,” a spokesperson from the security company said in a statement.

The women claimed that she was raped by three men close to the old railway houses.

The woman was able to give a detailed description of her assailants.

When armed response officers arrived at the location next to the station they found all three suspects still inside the structure along with two other women they were busy raping.

“The suspects tried to fight their way out, but were apprehended and detained. Brackenfell police were called to the scene where they made the arrests.”

The court case was postponed to 9 May for a bail hearing where the Kraaifontein family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit will oppose bail. The men remain in custody.
