Durbanville farmer and property developer André Brink of Groot Phesantekraal was awarded as South Africa’s Grain Producer of the Year.
Brink received this prestigious award at the awards ceremony of Grain SA and Syngenta in Boksburg on Friday evening.
The competition was held for the first time in three years due to Covid-19.
Brink, who started for farm with his father in 1985 on their family farm, won the title for being a role model in the community and also for profitable and sustainable grain production.
The other finalists were North West farmers Gideon Koegelenberg of Damkraal Boerdery at Makwassie and JP Meintjes of Kruispan at Viljoenskroon.
