Milnerton Primary School learners had a blast last week (Friday 21 October) during their Funky Sock Day – boasting a wide variety of colourful socks.
The school recently partnered with Home of Hope, an organisation that works with children suffering from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
The Funky Socks Day was in the form of a civvies day.
Learners had to pay an amount to wear funky socks either with their uniform or with civvies, and the proceeds went towards the care of children at Home of Hope.
A sticker was provided which learners purchased as proof of participation.
They have raised a whopping R18 000, says school principal Warick Middelton.
The school chooses one charity per term to lend a helping had – their current project is the Santa Shoebox.
