Hair products bring about big changes for woman from Elsies River

Leshme de Bruyn makes her own hair products.

A former administration clerk from Elsies River has beaten the odds when she built a successful business.

Leshme de Bruyn (33), a single mother, dyed her hair in 2021, but did not get the result she was looking for.

“That was after my contract was cancelled at work. I dyed my hair white and it got chemically damaged and it started to fall out in batches. I got an idea of mixing oils together and applying it to my scalp and hair and after a few weeks passed I saw results in texture and a little growth. In April 2022 I made samples of the hair growth oil and gave it to my friends and family and after four weeks got positive feedback. People began to ask for the product and I started to sell the one product. Today I make and sell eight products,” says De Bruyn.

De Bruyn is currently making her products in her kitchen.

“I mix different oils together to get my hair growth oil and other products. Like my hair treatment the oils need to be put on heat to blend together. Once cooled down I can pour it into the containers. The benefits of using my products is that it promotes hair growth and moisturizes the hair. For men I have products for their beard, which can grow it and make it feel soft. My products are suitable for the whole family and all hair types,” says De Bruyn.

She says she hopes to one day own her own store with products like hair growth oil, serum, hair treatment, beard oil, anti-hair loss tonics and shampoo.
