Local group The Temple Boys will be bringing some Gqom flavour to the #MotherCityJam taking place at GrandWest on Saturday 20 May.
They will be sharing the stage with Majozi, RJay and LK, and Idols winner Berry along with a few up and coming local artists.
The four Ravensmead youngsters – Dylin “Mr Gham” Adams (19), Terriano “Mr Areveerend” Duimpies (18), Ronin “Mr Stifler” Johannes (18) and Charley “Mr Werkhom” Dick (21) – met in high school and started making music together in 2018.
They started recording music from their bedrooms and had their big breakthrough in 2022 when they got social media going wild with their song “Saggies” featuring Young King.
Not only did the song attract more than 100 000 followers (and over 1,1 million views to date) on the group’s TikTok channel, it blew up, grabbing the attention of their local community and celebrities like the late South Africa rapper AKA.
