The Ruyterwacht Neighbourhood Watch celebrated Youth Day with a career expo on Friday 16 June – and will be hosting similar events in the future.
According to Janine Thomas, secretary of the Ruyterwacht Neighbourhood Watch, they are quite pleased with the turnout.
“We are especially grateful to those parents who joined their children because we simply cannot do any of these without their help, support and encouragement,” Thomas said.
The highlight of the neighbourhood watch would be the interaction and engagement between the children and the speakers.
Thomas said they could see their enthusiasm and their desire to obtain as much information as possible.
“This was the aim of the event after all,” Thomas expressed.
“We would like to continue in our pursuit to uplift and support our youth where possible and would like to get them as involved as possible,” Thomas said.
The neighbourhood watch would like to thank all the stakeholders and guests who attended the event and would like to see more getting involved in their initiatives.
