Ashley’s Family Restaurant in Goodwood was crowned as the best family restaurant in Cape Town for the second time consecutively in the Kfm Best of Cape Town Awards.
Ashley Witten, the owner of Ashley’s as it is known to the public, told Kfm that they stayed consistent throughout the years. “We keep on doing what we are doing and once again it paid off.”
He explained that it is overwhelming as the competition grew tremendously and it is getting stronger.
According to Kfm, this year’s awards have been the biggest since its inception in 2021.
In their official statement, Kfm said “two true stars shone brightly among the winners: the community-centred Ashley’s restaurant, and Bo-land Deli”.
Witten stated they could not have done it without their customers.
“Being chosen by our customers again is so amazing and there are not any words that can describe how we as the team of Ashley’s feel, we feel ecstatic and blessed,” says Witten.
He described the day of the announcement as nerve-wracking, while waiting for the answer, especially with the customers also listening.
According to Witten it was a relief and excitement when they got the answer, knowing so many people shared that with them.
Alice Menigo, HR at Ashley’s, said the win was a big blessing.
“To receive this award again, they chose us. The awareness and the exposure of the Ashley’s Family Restaurant name is echoed out there.”
The winners were announced on Tuesday 15 August.
