The principal at Erica Park Primary School in Belhar said it was a heart warming experience when they recently received their first science laboratory.
The laboratories were sponsored by a partnership among Advancing Knowledge Non-Profit Company (AK NPC), Garden Cities Archway Foundation and the provincial education department as a continued process to?improve the infrastructure in which science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects are taught by constructing modern science laboratories called Science Teaching & Learning Centres (Science TLCs).
A total of nine new science TLCs constructed at the schools across the province were recently opened.
“It is with great awe and admiration that we witnessed the inspirational and motivational speeches from the sponsors,” said Hilda Rolls.
“It was heart warming, as it certainly impacted on us that business people could generously sponsor and gift us with such a valuable and awesome investment.”
Rolls further stated the pledge to embrace, inspire and fully use this space as a stepping stone to unlock that embedded potential in the learners. This will provide them with an ideal space to explore, experiment and think critically. One learner said that the laboratory will provide her with endless opportunities and hopefully answer all her questions.
“The educators and learners at Erica Primary are so grateful to our generous sponsors,” said Rolls. “We reaffirmed our passion for teaching.”
