We moved to Milnerton almost two years ago. The best thing for us was being so close to the beach.

Unfortunately the amount of nappies that I saw washed up on the beach made me take photos and I posted these to Twitter (now X) and I tagged the mayor.

It is an ongoing problem and the source must be found as this is not a matter of people visiting and enjoying the beach and leaving their dirty nappies behind.

This is a organisation like a creche or a hospital that cares for infants that probably dumps these in bulk in the Black River and it then gets washed out to sea.

I would suggest to the City that a reward should be offered to anyone that can identify the culprits who dumps these nappies that end up in our ocean.

Unfortunately Save a Fishie and everyone that helps with the cleaning of the beaches is fighting a losing battle. Someone somewhere knows who does the dumping. Let us please get the communities involved and expose these serial dumpsters. A nice reward should do the trick. Only then can we start to win the battle against the nappies.
