Residents and members of the club enjoyed a festive day.

In a heart-warming display of community spirit, members of the BMW Motorrad Club Cape recently visited the KSE care centre for the aged and disabled in Scottsdene bringing smiles and excitement to residents.

The event formed part of the clubs charity outreach.

In their signature leather jackets club members took the time to interact with the elderly and presented a scrumptious lunch and live entertainment by the band 3Flo making for a festive day.

Residents were thrilled to see the motorcycles up close and share their own stories of their experiences on motorcycles.

“This turned into such a successful event. We managed to raise enough funds to buy them adult diapers which is a great financial worry for the home,” says Jani van der Merwe from the club.

The home currently has 124 residents with another 10 on the list for admission.

“The home runs mostly on donations as the Sassa grants don’t cover all the necessary expenses, medical, accommodation, meals and any other needs that the elderly may need while living there. We, as the BMW Motorrad Club Cape, felt the need to get involved with this home this year and we are so grateful we did. It was an amazing day we spent with them, serving lunch and listening to music. They were very excited to see the motorcycles and shared their stories of their experiences on motorcycles,” she says.

The event proved to be a testament to the power of community involvement and the joy of giving.
