Durbanville Craft Market brings scavenger hunt for children

Durbanville Craft Market will hold a scavenger hunt for children at its next market on Saturday 6 June.

The market will be held from 09:00 to 14:00, weather permitting, at 5 Louw Street, Durbanville (behind the police station).

Scavenger hunt

The scavenger hunt will run from 10:00, with prizes to be awarded at noon.

Entry is free.

Stalls will offer handmade crafts and food, or will be raising funds for charity organisations such as Fisantekraal Animal Welfare and Capetonians Against Animal Abuse, which focuses on cats.

Only handmade crafts sold

The market has been part of the Durbanville community for 40 years and is one of the few markets to sell strictly handmade arts and crafts.

It is dedicated to supporting those in need and to charitable causes.

There will also be a fundraising stall to help a high-school pupil travel to Germany as an exchange student.

Creative children are invited to apply for a stall space free of charge.

Crafters are welcome to join the market; stall fees are R100, and all proceeds are donated to welfare organisations.

Live music will be provided by Jerry Fourie.

Entrance is free. Pets are welcome.
