Red Bull Locked In gaming tournament comes to Cape Town, Bellville in March 2026.

CAPE TOWN – Red Bull has announced the launch of Red Bull Locked In, a new competitive gaming event coming to Cape Town from 6 to 8 March 2026. The LAN tournament will take place at Bellville Velodrome and promises to combine traditional Apex Legends gameplay with real-life challenges and unique game modes.

The three-day event will feature knockout mechanics, points-based survival systems, and multiple game modes including Battle Royale, Wildcard, and Mixtape. Players will face elimination and revival mechanics throughout the competition, testing their skill, strategy, and endurance in what organisers describe as a high-risk, high-reward experience.

Four team captains have been selected to build their squads through an online application process. The captains are Julia “Bish”, Collins “ItzSkarra”, Tyler “Binkz”, and Henrico “HenricoM”. Applications to participate are now open through Red Bull’s digital platforms.

Community focus drives event vision

Global esports host and commentator Sam “Tech Girl” Wright will be involved in the event. She emphasised the community aspect of the tournament, saying: “Gaming has always been more than just what is happening in the server: it is about the friendships and community that we can build around those rad moments. Red Bull Locked In celebrates those moments, friendships and the gaming community.”

Wright added that local gaming opportunities like this are rare, expressing excitement about meeting other South Africans who share the same passion for competitive gaming.

NAG Magazine will serve as the official media partner for Red Bull Locked In, providing coverage of the tournament. The event aims to re-energise South Africa’s LAN gaming scene by introducing what organisers describe as a festival-style competition.

Players interested in participating can follow @RedBullZA and @RedBullGaming on social media or visit Red Bull’s digital platforms for application details and further information about the tournament.
