On Thursday (11 November), around 01:30, Ravensmead Crime Prevention Unit officers were conducting stop-and-searches in Fabriek Street, Eureka Estate.
During the search a firearm was found in possession of a young man with about 14 9 mm live rounds of ammunition, said police spokesperson Capt Odwa Makupula.
“A 23-year-old suspect was arrested and a case opened, CAS 137/12/2025, for illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. He will appear in the Goodwood Magistrates’ Court, once charged.”
