The police’s Water Policing and Diving Services (WPDS) were continuing their search for a Delft teenager who went missing off Bakoven.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, 27 September, WC Government Health EMS Metro Control, the NSRI Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), police WPDS, City of Cape Town Law Enforcement and NSRI Bakoven duty controllers were alerted to a teenager reported missing from rocks, where a group of adults had gathered.
Shoreline patrols and investigations of rocks around the area showed no sign of him, and it became increasingly apparent that he may have slipped off rocks into the incoming tide.
After extensive air, sea and shoreline-search efforts came up empty-handed police opened a missing-person’s docket and were continuing their investigations.
