The Milnerton Players will present Duo of Drama – two captivating one-act plays by renowned playwright Geraldine Aron: Mickey Kannis Caught My Eye and Bar and Ger, on Fridays and Saturdays from 27 June to 12 July.

Known for their understated power, emotional clarity, and deeply human themes, Aron’s one-acts explore the aching intersections of love, identity, memory and regret. This double bill is a study in Catch intimacy and introspection—stories that remain with the audience long after the curtain falls.

In this heartfelt drama, Mickey Kannis Caught My Eye, the flamboyant Mickey finds himself caught between family and a life unlived.

Playing the title role is Gregan Aherin, a full-time actor making his debut with The Milnerton Players.

Cast

Starring opposite Aherin as Diana is Kendra Maduray, who brings an emotional vulnerability to a woman navigating marriage, identity, and the quiet ache of compromise.

Jean-Marie Schoots joins the cast as Helen. Usually found behind the sound desk as a second-year sound engineering student, Schoots steps fully into the spotlight with poise and purpose.

Rounding out the cast is Chris Cameron-Dow as Bernie. Known primarily for his musical direction and piano work, Cameron-Dow steps into his first dramatic role as the well-meaning cousin and serial entrepreneur. This moving two-hander, Bar and Ger, follows the autobiographical story of siblings Barry and Geraldine, starring Aherin and Schoots.

This double bill is helmed by Godfrey Johnson, award-winning composer, performer, and theatre director whose Fleur du Cap-winning work spans continents and genres.
