Christel House South Africa (CHSA)’s U-19 Girls Soccer Team is determined to finish its soccer season with more silverware and victories.

The school has endured a mixed start to the season, winning 5-1 against Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard, losing 3-0 to Springfield Convent and going down 3-0 to St Cyprian’s on Tuesday 4 August.

Willingness to fight

Such mixed scores did not reflect the sheer determination, resilience and character of the group, soccer coach Carlyn Heuvel pointed out.

“They continue to show incredible heart, work ethic and a willingness to fight for one another until the final whistle. As a relatively new team that is still building chemistry we are making steady progress with every match. Our goal for the season is to continue developing as a cohesive unit, improve our consistency and grow in confidence both on and off the ball.”

The team still has upcoming fixtures against Reddam House Constantia, German International, Camps Bay High and Pinelands High.

The season comes against a backdrop of growing football talent in the area.

A prominent community-based amateur club, it is a well-known contender in the Manenberg Local Football Association.
