Lions honoured for a year of giving
The Lions Club of Tokai wrapped up its 2025/2026 fiscal year on Tuesday 2 June. Members gathered for the club’s final general business meeting and left with more than just minutes.
“Our greatest reward is making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Receiving recognition for our efforts is the cherry on top.” said Mark Rossouw, who took home the Selfless Service Award on the night.
Club president Charlie Flanagan delivered his valedictory address. He acknowledged members for their hard work and dedication over the past 12 months.
Lynette Davids claimed the Engine Room Award. Jill Rumbelow took the Kindness Matters Award. Ian Grove earned the Service and Club Dedication Award. Chris Smith walked away as Lion of the Year.
The club presented Michele Smit with the Louis Vols Award for outstanding service.
Certificates of appreciation went to Jean Jacobs, Saskia Hattingh, Christiane Beretta-Savoia, Bärbel Schelling, Helger Kerberg and Anke Rochau.
“We remain resolute in our commitment to serving our communities with heart, compassion and unwavering dedication,” Rossouw said.
